Jon Schumacher

Hi there!

My name is Jon Schumacher, and I’m a theatre artist with a deep passion for creating innovative theatre that contributes to a stronger future for the art form. As a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, I have had the joy of performing professionally since age 15 across Twin Cities stages. I recently graduated from the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists and am currently working as an artistic & administrative intern at Park Square Theatre.

Over the past year, I’ve shifted my focus from performance towards directing, producing, and arts administration. At Park Square Theatre, I worked as Assistant Director on A Chorus Line and have contributed across artistic and administrative departments, deepening my interest in both the art we create and the organizations and systems that make that work possible.

I’m especially interested in the evolving landscape of American theatre and the future of the nonprofit model. I want to create bold, visceral, exciting work while exploring how theatre can evolve into a more sustainable, accessible, and essential part of our culture.

Outside of theatre, you’ll usually find me exploring different corners of the city, walking, biking, or scootering around the many lakes in Minnesota, discovering new thrift stores and coffee shops, or playing the piano.

At my core, I’m a lover of humanity, and I aim to create work that spreads love, light, and joy through exciting storytelling.
